Talent Acquisition Specialist

Hamish Law

Next up in our ‘Meet the Team’ series is Talent Acquisition Specialist Hamish Law. Hamish is part of our Industry & Commerce team in the East of Scotland at iMultiply, focusing on supporting candidates to make the next move in their careers. He thrives off of building relationships with individuals, often becoming fast friends with those he works with. Hamish is a natural at conversation and is very detail orientated. He is a true asset to the iMultiply team. Hamish recently shared with us the importance of speaking to your network when job hunting and what his job as a Talent Acquisition Specialist involves.

Tell us about your role in iMultiply?

I am a Talent Acquisition Specialist, and I focus on the candidate journey with iMultiply. My role, in essence, is to ensure any candidate pursuing a permanent position in the industry is guided through the process professionally and efficiently. With all that has happened these past 18 months, I believe my role allows candidates to feel valued and listened to when looking for a new position.

What 3 things do you enjoy most about what you do?

First and foremost, I enjoy speaking to candidates on a daily basis. I generally enjoy chatting to people and learning about them professionally and their motivations for a move. I’d say most importantly, though, I like speaking to people on a personal level and getting to know them more than anything – this role gives me that platform to talk to hundreds of people monthly, what could go wrong. I love helping people, though, and this role allows me to do that – to assist someone getting back on their feet or making the next move in their career is very fulfilling.

Tell us about your proudest professional achievement.

My proudest professional achievement would be winning last quarters “Value’s Champion”. Each quarter iMultiply awards a values champ. This is an internal peer vote to find out who everyone feels has been demonstrating the company’s values. It was a bumpy quarter for me personally, but being voted by my peers was an excellent way to end it.

What advice would you give to people looking for a new role?

My advice would be to use all the help you can get. Speak to your loved ones, speak to industry professionals and speak to recruiters (iMultiply) about what you want to do next and how you want to get there. I think this message mirrors a shift in wider society right now regarding our Mental Health and Wellbeing, and if it works for that, then it can only help in your professional career.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy sports, sports and more sports. I am a massive Greenock Morton and Arsenal fan and spend a lot of my time on the golf course. Football has, however, always been my “one true love”, and although not playing currently, I recently helped set up North Berwick Amateurs FC with a few pals. Throughout the pandemic, we reminisced about all the good times spent together in our younger years and decided to create something that would bring it all back. I am currently “Manager” but looking to get back into the playing side of things once I’ve recovered from injury. In saying that, though, I’ve loved being involved in the organisational side of things such as Sponsorship, Grant Applications and forming a Charity Partnership.

We are a values-led organisation with customer experience at the heart of everything we do. Which of our values resonates most with you and why?

Integrity. Just be honest – because why wouldn’t you?
