Meet the Team

Managing Director

Kris Flanagan

Kris Flanagan is the one steering the iMultiply ship day to day. He has over 20 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, with the majority spent in the accountancy & finance sector. Kris joined the iMultiply team in 2018 and quickly got promoted to Managing Director in 2019, making him responsible for the strategic direction of the business as well as leading the teams day-to-day to deliver industry-leading levels of customer experience. For our final ‘Meet the Team’ of the year, we asked Kris what he enjoys most in his role at iMultiply and which of our values resonates with him the most.

Tell us about your role at iMultiply.

As Managing Director, I have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations at iMultiply. It’s an incredibly varied role and includes things such as Strategic Direction, People Leadership, Partnership Liaison, Customer Engagement, and Board Reporting.

What three things do you enjoy most about your role?

Seeing people progress and develop is my favourite thing about being a leader. Helping people achieve their goals brings me the greatest sense of achievement throughout my career.

Being a recruiter, I also love meeting people, whether those are new connections or people I have known for 20 years. That interaction of meeting someone and thinking about how you can best help them is what I have loved throughout my career.

I also really enjoy working with our suppliers and partners. Seeing firsthand the great work that organisations such as ProjectScotland, LGBT Youth Scotland, and Black Professionals Scotland do on a daily basis really inspires me.

Tell us about your proudest professional achievement.

My proudest professional achievement was getting promoted to Managing Director at iMultiply in 2019. Having only been with the business for a year at that stage, I was incredibly proud that Kirsty Mackenzie (iMultiply CEO) trusted me with running the company she had spent seven years building.

What advice would you give to people looking for a new role?

I have written a few pieces about how to job hunt effectively, but my most significant piece of advice is to spend the time working out what you really want to do before you start interviewing. Working out what you love doing, what you are great at, what others think your strengths are and what challenge or stretch you need to find in your next role is the key to successful job hunting.

What do you enjoy doing outside work?

I’m a Dad to two boys (aged 10 and 8), so most of my time outside of work is spent playing and hanging out with them. I am also a big sports fan and try to watch as many Liverpool FC games as possible. Although this is mainly on the TV, I have made two trips to Anfield this season. I am hoping to squeeze in another before the end of the season.

Which iMultiply Value resonates most with you and why?

I feel fortunate to work at a firm that doesn’t just chat about having values but lives those values on a day-to-day basis. All three of the values hold a special place for me, but I would say Innovation if I had to choose. My personal viewpoint is that it’s important to generate new ideas and embrace new ways of working to keep moving forward. If the last two years have taught us anything, it’s that we are much more resilient to change than most of us think we are.
