Finance Manager
The Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) is the trade association that supports the Scotch Whisky industry. The industry’s vision, as set out in the SWA’s 2018-2023 Strategy, is to ensure Scotch Whisky continues to be the world’s undisputed premier whisky and consumers’ spirit of choice. The SWA’s mission is to drive the best possible global business environment for Scotch.
In order to do so, the SWA will focus on the following Strategic Priorities:
1. support market growth
2. advance global sustainability; and
3. drive the Covid-19 recovery
The SWA is led by its Chief Executive and is made up of five teams, each led by a Director or Deputy Director. Each team plays its part in working to achieve the Strategic Priorities. The teams are: International, Industry, Strategy and Communications, Legal and Corporate Services. The work of each team is critical to the SWA achieving its priorities and the industry’s vision.
The role of Finance Manager is a challenging position that is best suited to an individual who is high performing and driven. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills and be able to demonstrate initiative and a can-do approach to all aspects of the role. To be successful in this position, you must thrive on challenges and enjoy working in a busy, dynamic environment.
A candidate with a problem-solving mindset, who can develop solutions and look to improve systems and processes whilst developing the monthly management accounts packs and assisting with the budgeting and forecasting processes. The role of the Finance Manager will support the business in making the best decisions, achieving best value, and providing an added value service to all stakeholders both internally and externally
The preferred candidate would be a qualified accountant with demonstrable post qualified experience having worked at Finance Manager level already. As well as having strong experience in both management and financial reporting it will be essential the successful candidate has experience of leading a team.
