THE ORGANISATION
This is an established accountancy practice based in Edinburgh, dedicated to providing high-quality finance services to owner-managed businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and private entities. The team delivers a blend of compliance, advisory, and strategic financial oversight to clients across diverse sectors.

THE ROLE
This mid-to-senior-level position blends technical expertise with client management and team leadership. You'll play a key role in compliance processes, client advisory, and team development. The position is suited to someone ready to work in a fast-paced but collaborative environment.
- Prepare and review year-end financial statements and VAT returns.
- Lead ad-hoc advisory projects for diverse clients.
- Supervise scheduling, timetabling, and internal deadlines.
- Mentor and oversee qualified accountants and trainees.
- Collaborate with tax and audit departments for seamless client service.
- Build long-term relationships with owner-managed businesses and private entities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You’re an experienced finance professional with a background in accountancy practice, ready to handle client-facing responsibilities while mentoring your team members. Analytical skills and technical experience with compliance systems are essential.
Mandatory
- CA or ACCA qualification.
- Strong knowledge of management and financial accounting.
- Proficiency with Excel.
- Experience with MTD-compliant software, such as Xero.
- Ability to build and manage client relationships effectively.
- Prior experience in a practice environment.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with trust or charity clients.
- Exposure to partnerships, sole traders, and LLP accounts.
- Familiarity with other accounting systems beyond Xero.
- Background in staff supervision and mentoring.
- Experience handling advisory or strategic financial projects.
