THE ROLE
As a key part of the finance team, the Finance Manager will oversee UK and US financial operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting, payroll, and sales tax/VAT, managing a small but dynamic team. This hands-on leadership role offers scope to influence process improvements, support business partnering, and contribute to wider finance transformation initiatives.

  • Complete month-end closing processes for UK and US entities, meeting deadlines.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and statutory accounts.
  • Oversee payroll operations and tax compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure internal controls are maintained.
  • Lead a small team, guiding and developing direct reports.
  • Support system upgrades and process automation projects.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 3+ years PQE, ideally with audit or industry experience in technology or SaaS sectors. You’ll bring technical proficiency in IFRS or UK GAAP, and hands-on experience with external audits, payroll, VAT, and financial controls. Your strong communication skills and commercial awareness will help you partner effectively across functions, and your ability to manage a team will be vital.

Mandatory:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • 3+ years PQE, with experience in financial accounting, month-end, and external audit.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, or FRS standards.
  • Experience managing payroll, VAT, and sales tax.
  • Skilled in Excel (advanced) and familiar with Power BI, ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, or Xero.
  • Demonstrable record of process improvements and automation.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and team leadership skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting US or international entities.
  • Exposure to finance transformation and system implementations.
  • Knowledge of SaaS or tech industry environments, or managing remote teams.
  • Internal controls framework familiarity (e.g., SOX/ICFR).

ON OFFER
This is a permanent, hybrid role based in Glasgow, The salary ranges from £55,000 to £60,000, depending on experience, with benefits including private healthcare, pension contributions, and generous holiday entitlement.
