Technology Assurance Assistant Manager

About this Role

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading professional services firm to recruit a Technology Assurance Assistant Manager to support the next phase of growth within their Technology Risk & Assurance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technology assurance professional who enjoys working closely with clients, developing people, and contributing to the strategic growth of a specialist team.

The role

Working collaboratively as part of a wider Technology Risk team, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality assurance and advisory services across the UK. You will support and manage junior team members, helping them grow and progress, while also contributing to client delivery, business development and internal initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting IT Internal Audit engagements as part of Risk Advisory services

Supporting IT External Audit services in collaboration with Audit teams

Delivering technology advisory assignments for a diverse client base

Providing day‑to‑day supervision, coaching and development of junior team members

Supporting Technology Risk leadership with strategy, operational, people and business development activities

Client focus

You will be a confident and credible client‑facing professional, able to:

Respond to client queries with minimal supervision

Develop a strong understanding of client businesses, objectives, risks and challenges

Brief and direct junior colleagues effectively on assignments

Review work‑in‑progress and ensure timely fee recovery

Support the winning of new work through proposals, fee quotes and tender processes

Technical excellence & leadership

Commitment to developing specialist technical knowledge and sharing insights with the wider team

Delivery of internal training and development initiatives

Identification of skills gaps and contribution to departmental improvement plans

Ownership of workflow planning and resource management

Leading by example through accountability, quality and professionalism

Efficiency, decision‑making & compliance

Confident decision‑maker within agreed remit

Proactive in suggesting solutions and challenging existing approaches

Champions the use of new technologies to improve efficiency and quality

Supports regulatory awareness and ensures the team understands relevant changes

Develops and delivers internal and client‑facing training materials

Advisory mindset

Continuously identifies opportunities for technology risk and advisory work

Supports senior leadership in developing new service offerings

Leverages existing relationships and referrals to grow the firm’s advisory capability

Skills & experience

Holds a relevant IT audit or assurance qualification (e.g. CISA, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or equivalent)

• Experience gained through practice and/or industry roles

• Background working with Financial Services and/or Corporate clients

• Exposure to technology‑based assurance and advisory services, working closely with Internal and External Audit teams

• SAP IT and application controls experience would be advantageous but is not essential
