THE ORGANISATION
The organisation operates within the legal or professional services sector, providing high-quality support to various divisions. They are seeking a proactive finance leader to drive financial discipline, performance, and efficiency across multiple teams.

  • Collaborates with division heads and senior stakeholders to develop financial strategies.
  • Supports budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modelling.
  • Monitors profitability, utilisation, and recovery rates.
  • Implements system upgrades and automation projects to enhance reporting.
  • Leads initiatives to improve billing, WIP management, and cash flow.

THE ROLE
This is a pivotal position offering financial leadership within a dynamic, division-focused environment. The successful candidate will partner with operational teams, support commercial decision-making, and contribute to strategic projects aimed at revenue growth and efficiency. You will manage partner reviews, Champion compliance with regulatory standards, and lead automation efforts on key financial systems. The role involves close work with legal operations and finance, requiring a balance of technical expertise and relationship management.

  • Partner with division leaders on financial planning and performance insights.
  • Lead and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling for multiple divisions.
  • Support pricing strategies, including AFAs and complex proposals.
  • Conduct financial reviews with partners and address partner debt issues.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and internal controls.
  • Drive system automation and process improvements.
  • Support division-wide initiatives geared toward profitability and efficiency.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The right candidate will bring a mix of technical financial skills and strong stakeholder engagement. Open-minded about backgrounds, they should be comfortable influencing senior teams and challenging financial data. Experience working in a professional services environments is preferred:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a finance or management accounting role, ideally within  professional services sectors.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and scenario analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • Experience with financial automation or process improvements.
  • Advanced user of dashboards and visualisation tools like Power BI or Tableau.

ON OFFER
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, with minimal travel. The organisation values flexibility and offers a supportive environment to develop your career. The salary range is up to £50,000 per annum, with potential for higher depending on experience, plus benefits including private medical insurance.
