The role
As a Private Business Tax Manager, you will lead a portfolio of private client and business tax engagements, ensuring high-quality service and strategic advice. You will build relationships with clients and collaborate closely with internal teams and external authorities. Your responsibilities include managing complex tax planning projects and delivering clear, technical reports. This role offers a mix of strategic advisory, compliance oversight, and team leadership, supporting clients in navigating UK and international tax landscapes.
- Manage diverse and complex tax advisory projects for private companies, family offices, and private equity clients
- Provide bespoke tax planning advice on inheritance, estate, capital gains, and corporation tax
- Develop and strengthen client relationships through proactive communication and strategic advice
- Oversee tax compliance processes, including reporting and audits
- Keep abreast of legal updates and advise clients on legislative impacts and opportunities
- Mentor junior team members and support their development within the practice

We are looking for the following:
- 5+ years in private client and corporate tax advisory, with experience of complex tax issues
- ACA and/or CTA qualified (or international equivalent)
- Expertise in UK tax legislation, including inheritance, capital gains, and corporate tax
- Proven project management and stakeholder relationship skills
- Proficiency with tax research tools, Excel, and tax compliance software
- Strong written communication skills for technical memos and reports
If you have this additional experience it would stand you in good stead:
- Experience in international tax or transfer pricing
- Familiarity with digital tax tools and automation platforms
- Knowledge of private equity structures and cross-border tax planning
- Additional language skills relevant to international clients
- Exposure to tax transformation projects
