Role overview
The firm is seeking a motivated individual to step into an Audit Manager role to strengthen its corporate team in Manchester. With a strong pipeline of new business and ongoing expansion, this role offers excellent opportunities for progression. You’ll work with a diverse client portfolio and play a key part in delivering high‑quality audit services.

Responsibilities
  • Lead audits from planning through to fieldwork and completion, ensuring delivery within budget.
  • Act as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of clients, building strong and effective relationships.
  • Manage on‑site audit teams, supporting the supervision and development of junior staff.
  • Allocate work effectively based on team capability and development needs, providing timely feedback.
  • Research technical issues as they arise and present practical solutions for senior review.
  • Manage engagement timelines and promptly communicate any issues to partners and clients.
  • Oversee work‑in‑progress and billing across your client portfolio.
  • Prepare and present planning and completion reports to senior management and Boards/Audit Committees.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support the smooth running of the team.

Skills and expertise
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
  • Ability to provide practical, proactive business advice, escalating complex issues where needed.
  • Experience working with complex group structures and liaising with component auditors would set you up well.
