The role 

This is an exciting leadership position within the Risk Advisory Services (RAS) team, based in the Reading area. You will develop and deliver strategic growth across London, Reading, and the Thames Valley, shaping the future of risk management and governance solutions. You'll work closely with stakeholders, lead high-profile projects, and influence the market by building trusted relationships. You’ll champion innovative, technology-enabled approaches such as AI and data analytics, helping clients enhance controls and meet evolving regulatory and risk standards.

  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships across key sectors.
  • Lead and manage high-quality internal audit and control projects.
  • Drive growth initiatives and create market-facing events to boost regional presence.
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks, supporting clients with Provision 29 and technology adoption.
  • Inspire, mentor, and motivate teams to deliver excellence.
  • Collaborate across the firm to share insights and optimise service delivery.

Your profile

You will bring a strong track record of leadership in risk advisory, governance, and controls, with established networks and a passion for growth. Your expertise will span technology, compliance, and advisory services, with a focus on high-growth sectors. You will thrive on building relationships, leading teams, and delivering innovative client solutions.

  • Proven experience in delivering internal audit, controls, and risk management projects for private and public sector clients (not banking / financial services).
  • Demonstrable success in developing new business, leveraging a professional network in the London regions.
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks, including SOX, IFRS, UK GAAP/FRS 102, and third-party assurance standards like ISAE 3000.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience supporting clients with the adoption of AI, data analytics, and technology-driven controls.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with a history of working with senior management and Audit Committees.

Preferred

  • Sector experience in Tech, Media, Life Sciences, Pharma, or high-growth businesses.
  • Chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Background in expanding services into new territories or markets.
  • Familiarity with governance automation tools and digital risk management solutions.
