THE ORGANISATION
The organisation is a UK-based multi-site business operating within the professional services sector. It manages multiple projects and needs a capable Finance & Operations Manager to oversee financial processes and support operational functions. The team includes finance, HR, and administrative staff, with a focus on continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Manage day-to-day finance activities, including payroll, invoicing, and reporting.
- Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with UK regulations.
- Provide financial insights and forecasts for strategic decision-making.
- Support HR administration and office operations.
- Assist with project accounting and billing processes.
- Use Excel, ERP systems, and Power BI for financial analysis and reporting.
THE ROLE
This role encompasses both financial management and operational support. You'll partner with the leadership team to streamline finance procedures, prepare management accounts, and support business growth. Your proactive approach will help maintain smooth day-to-day operations across finance, HR, and admin functions.
- Oversee monthly payroll submissions and staff pensions.
- Manage project invoicing, debtor follow-up, and cashflow monitoring.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and projections for the board.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage expenses.
- Support HR processes, including staff records and benefits administration.
- Maintain accurate financial data in Sage or similar systems.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in financial management within a professional or services environment. You will have the skills to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and confidence.
Mandatory:
- Experience in month-end reporting, management accounts, and cashflow forecasting (ideally 3+ years).
- Proficiency in Excel and financial software (e.g., Sage, Rapport, ERP systems).
- Knowledge of VAT, UK GAAP/FRS 102, or equivalent accounting standards.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Ability to handle payroll, invoicing, supplier payments, and reconciliations.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and suppliers.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a multi-site professional services firm
- Exposure to Sage or similar accounting software.
- Knowledge of HR administration, pensions, or benefits.
- Understanding of project accounting and WIP reports.

- Salary in the range of £35,000 to £40,000, depending on experience.
