Meet the Team
Head of Executive Services
Next up in our ‘Meet the Team’ series is Head of Executive Services, Laura Montgomery. Laura joined iMultiply mid pandemic in 2020 and has been making waves in the Executive Services space since. Her specialities include leadership recruitment, executive search & selection, headhunting, career advising and succession planning. Recently she shared with us why it’s important to partner with a Consultant who takes the time to get to know you as well as what’s next on her bucket list.
What area of the market do you specialise in?
I specialise in financial leadership appointments across Scotland with a particular focus on ‘Group Head of’, Finance Director and CFO roles. I have over 16 years of experience supporting Scotland’s most reputable large corporates and high growth SME’s.
Prior to iMultiply Executive Services, I spent the majority of my career at a NASDAQ recruitment consultancy, latterly as Associate Director, having built a successful division in the Scottish Industry & Commerce senior Finance market.
What 3 things do you enjoy most about what you do?
I thrive on adding value to organisations by making impactful appointments and partnering with sought-after employers that can offer the candidates I represent a fulfilling & progressive career.
This career offers access to some extremely talented people. It is very rewarding to represent people who are passionate about what they do, people who demonstrate significant value add throughout their career. Representing them is a pleasure (both companies and candidates) and carving a long term, trusting relationship.
My energy comes from partnering with innovative and resilient companies – companies that continue to perform in the face of disruption in today’s new business world.
What advice would you give to people looking for a new role?
Making a move can be daunting and many of us have been misled by a company that are experts at marketing themselves, but in reality, the environment is something very different. Make sure you partner with a Consultant who understands you as an individual, someone who takes the time to understand your own personal career journey and your motivations. It is imperative that you partner with a Consultant who will be open and honest about the company and position you are considering. Scotland is a relatively small market, so do your due diligence before accepting a move.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
In my spare time, I enjoy going for long walks with my dogs and eating out with friends at some of Glasgow and Edinburgh’s tastiest restaurants. I swim, run and attend the gym regularly to stay fit. I also enjoy travelling, having visited many places including Australia, Mexico & numerous parts of the US in the last few years. Next on the bucket list, I am planning on taking flying lessons and visiting the Middle East.
Animal charities are very close to my heart, in particular Human Society International, one of the largest animal protection organisations in the world, renowned for closing down dog meat farms across Asia.
We are a values-led organisation with customer experience at the heart of everything we do. Which of our values resonates most with you and why?
What attracted me to iMultiply is the company’s innovative mindset and the CEO’s commitment to improving the level of service to the Scottish market, which is mirrored in the approach of iMultiply’s Consultants. The company’s collaborative and inclusive culture is something I was also attracted to.
