Interim Finance Manager

About this Role

Location: Central Scotland (On-site)
Contract: Interim Assignment (9-12 months anticipated)
Hours: 30-35 hours per week (flexible)
Salary: £45,000 per annum

The Opportunity

We are supporting a long-established and highly recognisable Scottish leisure business in the appointment of an experienced Interim Finance Manager.

This is a hands-on leadership role within a multi-entity organisation that is entering a significant period of finance transformation and operational improvement. Working closely with the Fractional CFO and senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the finance function, lead a small team, and help drive efficiencies through process improvement and systems development.

The business is looking for a pragmatic, resilient finance professional who enjoys bringing structure, modernisation and positive change to an evolving environment.

The Role

As Interim Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day finance operation across multiple entities while leading a programme of change focused on improving efficiency, strengthening controls and reducing manual processes.
Reporting into an experienced Fractional CFO, you will initially receive significant support and guidance before gradually taking full ownership of responsibilities, allowing the CFO to reduce their operational involvement over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day finance function across multiple trading entities

  • Manage and develop a team of three finance staff

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts

  • Oversee cash flow management, forecasting and financial reporting

  • Drive process improvement initiatives across the finance function

  • Continue the modernisation of systems and finance processes

  • Utilise finance systems to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads

  • Support ongoing development and optimisation of Xero and related systems

  • Improve reporting processes and internal financial controls

  • Work closely with operational managers and senior stakeholders across the business

  • Provide financial insight and support decision-making activities

  • Oversee purchasing controls and processes

  • Support payroll-related improvements and system integration activities where required

  • Partner with the Fractional CFO to deliver key transformation objectives

About You

You will be an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar finance professional who has successfully operated in dynamic, fast-moving environments.
You will bring:

  • Proven experience leading finance teams

  • Strong management accounting experience

  • Excellent cash flow management skills

  • Experience driving finance transformation and change initiatives

  • A track record of improving systems, processes and efficiency

  • Experience working with Xero or similar cloud-based finance systems

  • The confidence to challenge existing ways of working and implement improvements

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to operate at both strategic and operational levels

Desirable Experience

  • Hospitality, leisure, retail or multi-site experience

  • Payroll oversight and payroll system integration experience

  • Experience working within owner-managed or SME businesses

  • Experience operating within businesses facing financial or operational challenges

The Team

You will inherit a team of three, including two experienced Accounts Assistants with extensive business knowledge and a Junior Accounts Assistant. A key focus of the role will be helping the team evolve from long-established manual processes towards more efficient and modern ways of working.

iMultiply is committed to diversity and will promote diversity for all employees, workers and applicants. iMultiply will treat everyone equally and will not discriminate on the grounds of an individual's protected characteristic. If you like the look of this vacancy and think you could perform the role, but don't meet every requirement, we would still encourage you to apply.
