THE ORGANISATION

As part of an ongoing programme of transformation and continuous improvement, they are seeking an experienced Systems Accountant to support the development and optimisation of their finance systems and reporting capabilities.

THE ROLE
As Systems Accountant, you will act as the bridge between finance and technology, ensuring systems are operating effectively while identifying opportunities to improve processes, automate activities, and enhance reporting capabilities. You will work closely with finance and technology teams to support systems development, implementation projects, reporting improvements, and user engagement.
- Lead finance systems improvements and identify opportunities for automation.
- Support system upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and implementation projects.
- Act as a subject matter expert for finance systems and reporting tools.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and management information.
- Analyse financial data and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
- Support user acceptance testing and troubleshoot system-related issues.
- Deliver training and guidance to end users across the organisation.
- Promote best practice and support adoption of new systems and processes.
- Maintain strong governance, controls, and system documentation.
- Contribute to wider finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for an experienced finance professional with strong systems knowledge and a genuine interest in driving improvements through technology and data.
Mandatory
- Qualified accountant (or nearing completion of a recognised professional qualification).
- Previous experience in a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems, ERP, or Finance Transformation role.
- Strong experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and budgeting processes.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, and management information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Preferred
- Experience supporting finance system implementations or upgrades.
- Knowledge of business intelligence and reporting platforms.
- Experience delivering user training and supporting change initiatives.
- Exposure to automation and process improvement projects.
- Ability to work effectively across both finance and technology teams.
