THE ROLE
As an Accounts & Business Advisory Associate, you'll be involved in key compliance and accounting tasks for SME clients. This entry-level role offers a clear pathway to professional qualification.

  • Support preparation of annual statutory accounts following UK GAAP and FRS standards
  • Assist with tax and VAT return completion and client record keeping
  • Communicate with HMRC on tax and VAT queries
  • Contribute to compliance processes and internal controls
  • Manage your chargeable hours to meet billing targets
  • Support administrative tasks, including document management and data entry
  • Engage in ongoing training, with study and mentorship provided for progression to ACA/ACCA

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The right candidate is eager to learn, organised, and motivated to develop a career in accounting. Basic familiarity with accounting systems and standards is essential.
Mandatory:

  • Enrolled in AAT or equivalent; part-qualified or QBE ACCA/ACA candidates
  • 0 to 2 years of experience supporting accounting or finance tasks
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102/105 for SMEs
  • Proficient in MS Excel, with familiarity with Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team

Preferred:

  • Experience with tax software (e.g., IRIS, TaxCalc)
  • Knowledge of automation tools or cloud-based accounting platforms
  • Exposure to audit processes or internal control frameworks
  • Good communication skills for client and HMRC interactions
