Financial Accountant

As a result of this exciting growth, the business is now looking to recruit a Financial Accountant for its office in Perth to work directly with the Group Finance Director. The role will focus on the provision of high-quality management reporting and oversight of the performance of the company.

With a direct reporting line to the Group Finance Director, the Financial Accountant will be primarily responsible for assisting in the delivery of the financial and monthly management accounts pack, variance analysis, and commentary for the board which will be utilised to drive performance and capitalise on opportunities.

Additionally, the Financial Accountant will be expected to bring a continuous improvement mindset to existing systems and processes. As well as work in conjunction with the Group Finance Director providing support for the budgeting and forecasting process along. The role will also include ad-hoc reporting on specific sites and customers, some of which will require data manipulation through Excel.

This role represents an excellent opportunity to join a growing entrepreneurial business in the Central Belt of Scotland. It will offer the successful candidate a chance to fully understand the key drivers of a business with the benefit of being developed in the role directly by the Group Finance Director with a view to being part of the future succession planning of the finance function. As well as contributing to the success of the company by playing a key role in its journey.

 

Due to the high focus on ensuring accurate monthly reporting, it is critical that the successful candidate has the ability to work in a demanding commercial environment where there will be an expectation of producing a number of different reports for the board based on a multitude of customers and regions they operate within. This role will be working closely with the Group Finance Director and will benefit greatly from their knowledge and development in the role. There will also be the opportunity to business partner and influence key stakeholders within the business which makes this role a true business partnering position.

It is essential that the successful candidate displays an ability to work at pace but also be very clear in their communications to their line manager and the wider business. And above all, this person must be an active participant in the operation and proactive in their approach to initiatives or tasks that may not necessarily be written in a job description.
