Chief Operating Officer

Amici Procurement Solutions’ has shown consistent year-on-year revenue growth and is highly profitable. This puts the firm in an enviable position of being able to expand organically and take advantage of a strong financial position, market-leader status and impressive track record.

To maintain market share, Amici Procurement Solutions has an exceptional opportunity for a Chief Operating Officer to join a new leadership team in executing a positive strategic restructure, paving the way for scalability. The future strategic plan may take shape in the form of a global Sales & Marketing drive, a further push into the US markets or up-selling to maximise profitability from current customers.

Due to the company’s exceptional service offering, Amici Procurement Solutions has grown naturally, and it is now the ideal time for a COO to join the business to focus on driving business performance; in turn, maximising profitability. Amici has a good infrastructure in place, including impressive systems and a pool of data at its fingertips, however, the data isn’t being fully utilised. The COO will interpret the data to build key business metrics and will develop and execute a strategic operational plan to drive performance. The ability to identify business development opportunities and building these into the operational plan is key to success in this role.

The COO is responsible for four business areas; finance, operations, data & service, and so the Chief Operating Officer will demonstrate strong leadership qualities. It is imperative the COO effectively communicates the new operational strategy to each business area, enthusing and personally developing the workforce to ‘take the workforce with them’ as the company enters this exciting new phase of development.

When appropriate, the COO will extend accountability to the wider teams and will work closely with the teams to ensure that they are managing their own P&L and hitting KPI’s accordingly.

The COO will also oversee all financial responsibilities including budgeting and forecasting; month end; annual submissions; management accounts; and will provide transparency on the monthly P&L and submission packs.

Amici Procurements Solutions prides itself on an inclusive, collaborative and open working culture – it is essential the COO has a similar management style, recognising the benefits of distilling this type of culture. Given the COO will be the right-hand person to the CEO, it is imperative that the COO has a passion for Amici Procurement Solutions and the journey the organisation is on.

The Chief Operating Officer will demonstrate strong leadership qualities with a track record of building high performing teams.  Given the successful candidate will collaboratively shape and execute the future plan, the role requires someone who can think strategically but is also a highly organised, hands-on operator and leader of people.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate considerable value-add and provide numerous examples of their personal part in the development of high-growth business. Someone with US exposure and a knowledge of the Biotech or e-commerce sectors is advantageous, but certainly not essential. The ability to quickly understand organisational drivers; identify growth opportunities and identify and execute operational strategy – whilst leading and utilising the workforce – is key to the success of this highly sought-after, rare opportunity.
